The complete Naruto: Shippuden filler list

December 2024 · 8 minute read

As any long-time Naruto fan must know, Naruto: Shippuden is the sequel to the franchise’s first anime installment, and adapts Part Two of Masashi Kishimoto’s best-selling manga. Naruto: Shippuden premiered in 2007, hot on the heels of Naruto’s conclusion, and is set over two years after the protagonist’s confrontation with Sasuke at the Valley of the End.

Despite being a giant in the anime industry — or perhaps as a side-effect of that — the Naruto series has a high percentage of filler episodes, but that did nothing to prevent it from becoming one of the best ninja anime of all time. Shippuden, in particular, has 500 episodes in total, released over the course of 10 years and organized into 22 seasons. Out of those, 203 are entirely filler episodes that don’t advance the main storyline in any way and can be skipped by viewers.

Of course, fans can (and often do) still enjoy fillers, as there are some that are definitely worth watching at least once, such as the Kakashi: Shadow of the ANBU Black Ops arc, whether because they add further depth to characters, or simply because they provide a fun time. That said, manga purists and those who would rather speed the viewing process along can go without them and not miss out on any canonical content from the source material.

In this article, we list all the filler episodes in Naruto: Shippuden organized by seasons. Despite there being episodes in the anime that feature canonical events with filler scenes in the mix, due to their nature, this list will include only episodes that are 100 percent filler, and can therefore be skipped.
