The Little Mermaid is Disney’s newest live-action film based on an iconic Disney princess, originally based on a Hans Christian Andersen fairytale. The film stars Halle Bailey as Princess Ariel, who wants to visit the “above world” and learn more about humans. According to the film’s director, Rob Marshall, the film took inspiration from the late 80s animated film and the original folklore, so it will be interesting to see how those two different tales work in a live-action setting.

One thing to note about The Little Mermaid is that it has more than one film in its franchise. It is a trilogy, filled with different characters from the past and future. Not to mention, it has a TV series that spanned for 3 seasons. So knowing that the original films have an extended story, were they ever hinted in the film via a post-credit scene?

Does ‘The Little Mermaid’ have a post-credits scene?

Lately, it seems like moviegoers have been trained to stick around for the credits in case they catch something that could hint at a potential sequel or share something inconsequential to the film’s plot. So don’t be surprised if you see people still sitting down even after the movie ends. But knowing how big The Little Mermaid franchise is, there could be a chance that other characters, such as the sequel’s big bad, Morgana, gets hinted for a potential part two.

Fortunately, you don’t have to sit through the credits – the live-action adaptation of The Little Mermaid doesn’t have a post-credits scene. Nothing new is hinted at right after the movie ends. At the same time, the sequels were direct-to-video releases, not theatrical releases, so there is a chance that people may be unaware of who the other characters are if they were hinted.

Not many Disney live-action films have received a sequel, so it’s unsurprising that the film doesn’t have a post credits scene, especially when there were no confirmed plans for a sequel to be made. But if you want to know who was involved in the making of The Little Mermaid, you’re welcome to stick around and read through all the names if you wish to do so.
