Jenna Ortega is cornering the market when it comes to playing spooky goth girl millennial favorites. Fresh from her dazzling performance in Netflix’s Wednesday, she’s now heading towards the long-awaited Beetlejuice 2, where she’ll play the daughter of Winona Ryder’s Lydia Deetz.

This was to be called Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian, and would’ve taken the action tropical, concluding with the ghostly antihero winning a surfing contest. Perhaps it’s best that that didn’t get made, but now, more than three decades on from the original, it looks like it may actually be happening.
