The trailer for Zendaya‘s next film just dropped its trailer and it is a lot. Challengers sees Zendaya become an epic pro-tennis player by the name of Tashi Duncan, who at the height of her fame has a threesome with two other male tennis players before an injury destroys her career. The trailer was fairly steamy and just a little scary and now fans are worried about Tom Holland amongst all this hype.

Zendaya has been in a relationship with Spider-Man co-star Tom Holland for some time now, and the two are often considered the cutest couple in Hollywood. Fans have been so used to the two seeming so happy together, that seeing Zendaya (even in a film) with not one, but two guys, has sent many into a tizzy. Twitter has been filled with comments on the matter, with many imagining how Holland must be feeling right now. Some imagine that the actor might be feeling a little worse for wear.

Many have brought up Zendaya’s other on-screen romance Timothée Chalamet as the possible real-life contender to Holland (the Spider-Man clip is appreciated for its multi-levelled nature).

Many are even pointing out that bringing up her boyfriend, who has nothing to do with this project, just because she is seen with other men is sexist.

Some are already finding the jokes tired out already.

To add a little bit of context to the above chaos, Challengers comes from the mind of director Luca Guadagnino and sees the complex relationship between three tennis players, Tashi Duncan, Patrick (Josh O’Connor), and Art (Mike Faist). The men seemingly both compete for Tashi’s affection and end up in a threesome with her and, going by the trailer, Patrick ends up in a relationship with her. This all changes though when Tashi is injured badly enough to knock her out of the sport and years down the line we see her instead married to Art and acting as his coach.

The past doesn’t want to stay down though as Tashi signs up her husband to a Challenger event where he will face off against Patrick. The story is a juicy one, and given the visuals and the fact the trailer is all done to the song “S & M” by Rihanna we’re getting some fairly erotic and even scary overtones.

While some of the jokes are admittedly funny, it is also a little sad that when an actress is in a film that contains some eroticism the first thing people jump to is how her boyfriend must be reacting to it. Zendaya and Holland are both actors, so we are sure he is very supportive and understanding of the whole thing.

Challengers looks like it will be a great movie, and we can all go catch it when it arrives in theatres on Sep. 15.
